Even though I do, of course, regret that I have not written the book the reviewer would have had me write, this fact cannot now be helped. But Dana Sutton may be relieved of part of his disappointment by closer attention to the book under review: information about primary sources is regularly given in the text, not in the bibliographical notes, the birth- and death-dates of Hans Jorgensen Sadolin and Tycho Brahe are to be found in pp. 79 and 165 respectively, and the article about Hegelund and Melanchthon is concerned with the Danish poet rather than with his German predecessor.
