The review by Pamela Martin currently online and frequently read, according to its position on Google, appears to be based on an earlier or pre-publication copy of the work and may do the authors (and potential readers) a disservice. The reviewer notes and repeats that the book is without notes or an index, thus making it useless to scholars. This is not the case. On the contrary, both notes and index are quite useful, and perform precisely the function that the reviewer missed.
